Marathon Gas Station is Closed

The station at the corner of Howell and Ryan has been dark for more than a week.

The lights are off at the Marathon gas station at the corner of Ryan Road and Howell Avenue, and it's not clear if they will be turned on again.

The station, 9502 S. Howell Ave., apparently closed sometime this month. The owner couldn't be reached for comment and no one was around when Patch stopped by Monday. But a few Patch readers e-mailed in to say the station has been closed for a week or more.

It wasn't immediately clear if the closure is temporary or permanent.

Patch will update this story when more information becomes available.

I know when we stopped in there a couple of weeks ago, their shelves were empty, and barely had anything at all.

They should tear down that place. Nothing good comes of it. They had more front lawn meetings on their patio furniture then they ever had the doors unlocked. Very strange

Last year this station would be closed for a couple days then open back up. It was then supposedly under new management. I tried to stop there once or twice a couple weeks ago when I saw a decent gas price on the sign but at the pumps they only had Premium gas available and signs saying "Out of regular". Now they have been closed up again. Very strange agreed.

The owners son told me a couple of weeks ago that they were turning into a 7-Eleven and that's why the car wash next door was painted those colors. Sounded like it would be affiliated with the station.

I heard from and employee that the owner is very sick and his children don't have any interest in the business at all.

mohammed nazar owns the car wash - and his cell phone number is 640.8930 for all of the others who have been ripped off by his "machines".
