PPG Pledges $75K For Science Program

PPG, which has plant in Oak Creek, is donating money toward science program for Milwaukee-area students.

The PPG Industries Foundation is donating $75,000 toward a science program for students in the Milwaukee area.

According to a news release, the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh is collaborating with the Harley-Davidson Museum on a version of "The Great Color Caper" science show for students in the region surrounding PPG's Oak Creek coatings plant.

The comic-book-styled program uses interactive multimedia to teach students about light, energy, reflection and color, according to the news release. Carnegie Science Center developed "The Great Color Caper" with funding from PPG Industries and its foundation.

Pittsburgh-based PPG has a plant at 10800 S. 13th St. in Oak Creek. The manufacturer specializes in coatings and serves customers in construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets.
