New Oak Creek Businesses Are All Ears
New guitar shop and hearing center coincidentally are opening in the city at about the same time.
Selective Hearing Centers opened its doors in Oak Creek last month and a guitar shop - Beyond Eleven - is on the way. The two would seem to have opposite goals. The former aims to increase your auditory capabilities, while engaging with the latter might decrease them. However, I can imagine the two will have a different client base - for now at least.
Here's a little more info on these new businesses:
Selective Hearing Centers is located in the Oak Creek Plaza - 7820 S. Howell Ave. They've been open for business at this location since Sept. 19. According to owner Jeff Johnston, more Selective Hearing locations are on the way for Racine and Kenosha as well.

When asked why he chose to bring his business to Oak Creek, Johnston replied that he felt it was an underserved community as far as the services that Selective Hearing Centers offers.

"...a full range of diagnostic and preventative hearing healthcare professional services, including hearing aid screening, evaluations, hearing aids sales and rehabilitative and preventative counseling."
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. They are also available by appointment on weekends.

Beyond Eleven is not yet open, but will be located near the corner of Rawson at 7040 S. 13th St.. No official opening date has been advertised, but the location is adorned with many "coming soon" banners.
An official representative for Beyond Eleven has not yet been reached for comments/specifics.
However, according to their site (which you can currently order guitar equipment from), Beyond Eleven has been in business since 2006 and has since:
"...set out to offer products that many of the big box music stores do not offer. At Beyond Eleven, we believe that your gear is a major part of your sound... so why would you want to sound like everyone else? At Beyond Eleven you'll see different, boutique, and even custom products that you've probably seen and heard, but couldn't find elsewhere."
