We Need Your Help to Build Community in Oak Creek

Oak Creek Patch has a unique opportunity for people interested in building local connections while practicing social media and online journalism skills. 

We're looking for people to promote the Oak Creek community using Patch's unique blend of tools for organizations, businesses and individuals. The ideal candidate is a "connector" who loves bringing people together and sharing local information. 

As a "Brand Ambassador," the individual will ... 

• Function as a liaison between local businesses, organization and schools and Patch
• Introduce Patch to the local community
• Recruit bloggers and event submissions by businesses and community members
• Relay news story ideas to local editors
• Submit events to local Patch event calendars
• Write blogs about the experience of being a Brand Ambassador and interactions throughout the community
• Post and connect on a daily basis with viable sources through Twitter and Facebook Accounts
• Engage in viral conversations with community through Twitter and Facebook Accounts

We're looking for people with experience in social media strategy and/or journalism, but this is a great learning opportunity for anyone interested in reaching a local audience through online media. Full brand training will be provided, and ambassadors will learn and practice social media skills that are directly applicable to anyone trying to share a message.

More important than experience, we're looking for people who care about Oak Creek and want to help build a local community of residents, organizations and businesses interested in supporting each other. Patch has tools to help connect people together in interesting ways. Ambassadors will help put those tools to good use. 

The position will start immediately.
