Wispark Purchases Howell Avenue Parcel

The company leading efforts to develop Drexel Town Square has purchased three acres to be used as an entrance to the site.

Wispark has purchased a three-acre parcel on Howell Avenue that will be used as an entrance to Drexel Town Square, according to BizTimes Milwaukee

Wispark, which is leading the Drexel Town Square development efforts, bought the vacant property at 8031 S. Howell Ave. for $1.6 million, the newspaper reported.

Officials have said traffic signals will be installed at that intersection. Two more entrances to Drexel Town Square are planned on Drexel Avenue.

Plans for the development call for a mix of shops, restaurants, office space, apartments, public space, a new city hall and library and a Meijer store.

Crews have been preparing the site for development throughout the summer. Officials expect business announcements later this year and to break ground on the city hall/library building in 2014
