It's not all a bed of roses!

The anxiety of watching a child struggle to breathe!

I talk about Kobi as being a typical little boy with temper tantrums, time-outs and being loving and caring, but today was not one of those days for a typical little boy.

You see, Kobi has asthma - or at least his doctor thinks he does. He cannot be 100 percent diagnosed until he is 6.

Kobi loves to play outside and couldn't wait for the nice weather to come. It is so nice to see a child who wants to play outside and not stay inside all the time. Unfortunately, the nice weather does not agree with Kobi.

He had been playing outside today and then came in and started coughing. He was having an asthma attack. I quickly grabbed his medication and that made breathing easier for him. He then thanked me for helping him to breathe. I am glad the medication works so quickly, but it breaks my heart that he has to thank me for helping him breathe.

I believe Kobi is one of the lucky ones so far. He takes medication twice a day and that seems to keep his asthma under control but he does have days like today when he will have an attack.

When the attacks first started to happen last year, I would panic but I have learned to react quickly so he can get relief quicker. I am so grateful there is medication out there to help him the way it does.

I can't even imagine what he is feeling when this happens, but he is quite the trooper and takes his medicine like a pro.

As a mother, you want to always do everything you can to protect your child, so I will continue to give him his medicine daily and always react quickly so he can get some relief immediately.

I love you Kobi and will always be there for you.
