BloodCenter of Wisconsin Plans Oak Creek Drive

St. Stephen Catholic Church will host the BCW blood drive on Wednesday afternoon.

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is partnering with several organizations to hold blood drives throughout Milwaukee County in July.

In Oak Creek, will host a drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the commons area of the church, 1441 W. Oakwood Road.

To make an appointment, call Florence Tello at (414) 482-3382. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin said in a news release that blood donation decreases during the summer months, so it is encouraging donors to make sure they schedule some time to give blood this summer.

Hospitals including Wheaton Franciscan in Franklin "have come to rely on BloodCenter of Wisconsin for a steady supply of blood to treat their patients," according to a news release.

Anyone 17 or older who is general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate. The process takes about an hour. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date.

For more information, call (877) 232-4376 or visit the BloodCenter of Wisconsin website.

The Blood Center helps many patients who need whole blood or platelets every year. I use to donate accumulating 400+ points in donations of whole blood and platelets. Unfortunately I can no longer donate since I was diagnosed with a rare malignant tumor growing off my bladder in March! So please donate if you are healthy, its a good cause! A past donor, Gary Seger

Grow up. We won't forget either. That those of you who had a little bit, held tightfisted to it likeRead More a four year old unwilling to share his toy truck. That you endorsed and supported a man who has gone on to undermine this state, its jobs, its infrastructure, its education system, its people, its very foundation. You remember...it was you who did this.
