Flu-Shot Season Is Here

Many clinics will be held in Oak Creek.

With the weather starting to turn, a number of flu-shot clinics have started springing up in the Oak Creek area.

The Aurora Visiting Nurse Association's Shoo the Flu clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at the , as well as 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at .

The cost for a seasonal flu vaccination is $30 when paying by cash or check, and pneumonia shots are $65. Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage Plans and Medicaid are accepted as payment. People must be age nine or older to receive vaccination.

The , 8640 S. Howell Ave., will offer an adult flu vaccination clinic by appointment only from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 3.

In addition, the department will offer adult flu vaccine as a walk-in service from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 10, 17, and 24.

Like Aurora, the cost of the flu vaccine is $30 and $65 for pneumonia vaccine. Medicare Part B and United Healthcare Medicare Plans are also accepted.
