Get Out: Love Is In The Air With Wine Tasting and SnowBall Gala

Where/When: Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park, Thursday through Sunday.
Why Go: It’s outside Oak Creek, sure, but a relatively easy drive nonetheless. More than 330 home improvement and remodeling exhibitors will be on hand to help you upgrade your home.
Pricing: $6 in advance; $8 Thursday and Friday; $10 Saturday and Sunday; $5 for seniors 60 or older, with a special price of $4 at the door on Thursday for Callen Construction Senior Day. Free for children 12 and under.

2. Where/When: , Friday, 6-9 p.m.
Why Go: This year's grand prizes include a fishing excursion or "party boat" cruise, a one-of-a-kind necklace and a romantic getaway for two. 
Pricing: $25 each or $250 per table. Tickets can be purchased at the community center or at the South Milwaukee-Oak Creek Interfaith office, 1327 Marshall Ave., South Milwaukee.

Where/When: , Saturday, noon.
Why Go: You can't travel to New York to watch Nixon in China, so why not settle for the next best thing? The theater hosts a live simulcast of the Met's performance. 
Pricing: $25

Where/When: Oak Creek Community Center, Saturday, 7-10 p.m. 
Why Go: It's a great way to get in the mood for Valentine's Day. It includes a sampling of over 20 wines and 20 Wisconsin Craft Beers, as well as commemorative glass, live musical entertainment and chocolate and cheese samples. 
Pricing: $30 in advance, $35 at the door and $15 for designated drivers.

5.
Where/When: Oak Creek High School, Sunday, 3 p.m.
Why Go: Because you don't often get a chance to see the world-famous marching band in your own backyard.
Pricing: $10
