FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Oak Creek Community Center/Thursday, 4-7 p.m. 

Why Go: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day locally - and support the community center and Lions Club - with this family-friendly event.

Pricing: $7 advance, $9 at the door. Seniors and kids 7-12 $6; kids under 6 free

• Imagination Movers Live: In a Big Warehouse Tour

Where/When: Milwaukee Theater, 500 W. Kilbourn Ave./Friday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Disney's Emmy Award-winning Imagination Movers is a New Orleans-based rock band for kids of all ages. The group travels coast to coast playing their most popular songs and bringing the magic of the Imagination Movers television series' Idea Warehouse to life.

Pricing: $20-$45

• Optical Illusions

Where/When: Brookfield Lab, 655 N. Brookfield Rd., Suite 2, Brookfield/Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Junior scientists will build their own periscope and learn about optics, reflection and sight. Price includes cool take-home items.

Pricing: $20 per child

Where/When: Greenfield City Hall, Besson Community Room/Saturday, noon to 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department turns the Besson Community Room into a gathering of princesses at an afternoon tea party. The princesses will dance, share stories, do crafts and sing songs. For children ages 4-7; all participants are encouraged to wear their best princess attire.

Pricing: $17 resident, $34 non-resident (call 414-329-5370 for more information).

• Recycled Art Contest

Where/When: Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 3014 N. 114th St., Wauwatosa/until March 26.

Why Go: Ten more days until entries are due for the ReStore's Recycled Art Contest. Take your kids and design a work of art completely from materials at the Restore, and compete to win great prizes.

Pricing: Upon submission, all approved entries receive a $25 gift certificate to the ReStore to compensate for materials.
