Historical Society To Hold Fall Festival

War re-enactors and many other activities are part of this year's event.

Civil War and World War II re-enactors, dozens of artifacts and a Civil War Medal of Honor are just part of the Oak Creek Historical Society's 13th-annual Fall Festival, set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 11.

The free event will be at the society's historical buildings at S. 15th Ave. and E. Forest Hill Ave. 

A working blacksmith, a basket-weaver, other history-oriented demonstrations and music are all part of the event. Luncheon items, baked goods and many other items will be for sale.

A $1 raffle has the grand prize of a handmade quilt. Among the other prizes is an autographed Green Bay Packer football from the 2010 Super Bowl championship season.

A special tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks will be held at 11:30 a.m.

Sept. 11 promises to be a busy day in Oak Creek. The Oak Creek Fire Department will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at 8:45 a.m. outside , 7000 S. 6th St.
