The state Department of Transportation on Sunday will shut down a portion of Interstate 794 in coordination with the United Performing Arts Fund Ride for the Arts, which is expected to bring thousands of bicyclists to the Hoan Bridge.
The road will be closed from 5:30 to 10 a.m. at Howard Avenue. Signs will direct drivers to I-94. Motorists are advised to watch for detour signs and expect delays.
The event will mark the first time in decades that bicyclists will be able to travel over the Hoan Bridge.
