It's Gonna Be Cold Out There

Temperatures for rest of this week could be coldest in two years.

Mitchell International Airport, for the first time in its history, did not record a below-zero temperature last winter.

That might change this week.

Residents should bundle up because it's going to be cold, cold, cold, according to the National Weather Service. The organization predicts southern Wisconsin will experience zero temperatures for several days late this week and into the weekend.

That would mean the coldest temperatures for Oak Creek in two years. The airport, just across College Avenue from the city, has gone a record 730 days without hitting the zero-degree mark, the NWS said.Β 

The high is projected to go from 21 degrees Wednesday, to 19 degrees Thursday to just 8 degrees on Friday. The NWS predicts Thursday's low will be -1. Β
