Nurse Describes 'Miraculous' Recovery of Shooting Victim

Punjab Singh continues his recovery at a rehabilitation center, where doctors have seen improvements they did not think were possible.

Long after media coverage of the Aug. 5 attack at the Oak Creek Sikh temple subsided, one of the victims is continuing his long recovery at a rehabilitation center, where he receives around-the-clock care.

On Thursday, a speech pathologist wrote a guest blog for the Sikh Coalition on the incredible recovery so far for Punjab Singh.

Holly Sennett has been working with Punjab Singh and his family since last fall. She wrote about "unexpected improvements and progress that doctors initially never imagined would happen," as well as "many signs that point to hope for continued miracles to come."

She also shared how Punjab Singh touches the lives of people through his healing, including one session involving a therapeutic harpist and a massage therapist, who were able to help him move and track his eyes.

"There is a pervasive sense of peace and calm when you enter Punjab Singh’s room at the hospital," Sennett wrote.
