Oak Creek Sets Tree Lighting Festivities

The tree will be lit at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 before the event moves into the community center.

Oak Creek will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at City Hall, 8640 S. Howell Ave.

The event begins at 5 p.m. when Santa arrives in the City Hall parking lot on an Oak Creek Fire Department truck to officially light the city Christmas tree.

Once the tree is lit, Santa will invite those present to head inside to the where he'll distribute special Christmas treat bags to every child.

The program will also feature a children's coloring contest, complimentary holiday refreshments and musical entertainment from the Oak Creek High School Choir and Sweet Music of Oak Creek.

Those attending the tree lighting are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Salvation Army Food Pantry.
