Rawson Avenue Bridge Rolls Into Place (Video)

Check out this Wisconsin DOT time lapse video of workers positioning the Rawson Avenue Bridge over Interstate 94, as part of a long-term construction project.

Have you seen the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's time lapse video of the unique construction method used for the Rawson Avenue bridge over Interstate 94?

The video shows how construction crews used a "self-propelled modular transporter" to move the 3 million pound bridge pieces into place after they were built on the side last month.

Since then, one lane for each direction of Rawson Avenue traffic has opened. But the entrance and exit ramps will remain closed until late fall, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

For more information about the Rawson Avenue interchange construction, see the fact sheet for the project, part of a massive overhaul of the North-South freeway that is scheduled to last until 2021.
