Reconstruction Of 13th, Puetz Intersection Draws Near

Preparation work has begun.

Crews are preparing for the reconstruction of the Puetz Road and 13th Street intersection.

The work is scheduled to officially begin the week of Sept. 6. Utility relocations are now under way and are expected to be completed by the time construction starts.

Plans call for stoplights and turn lanes to be added to the intersection. The project is part of a bigger effort to expand Puetz Road from Liberty Lane to the interstate.

Officials expect the project to be completed by Nov. 11, said Matthew Sullivan, a design engineer in the city's engineering department.

The road will remain open to two-way traffic through the duration of the project, he said. Some temporary lane closures and delays may occur (as they do in most road construction projects), but Sullivan said they should minimal in this case.
