Roads A Mess As Snow Piles Up

Snowfall could be biggest of season.

Snow is expected to continue into the evening, which is not a good sign for Oak Creek roads already in bad shape.

Most of the main streets in Oak Creek were still packed with snow as of 4 p.m. today as plows struggled to keep up. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department cautioned drivers to slow down and allow extra travel time to get to their destination.

Thirty-four crashes on the freeway system have been reported since 7 a.m. today, according to the sheriff's office.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and said the area could receive about five inches of snow.

The NWS also predicted temperatures will sharply drop this week. The high was expected around 30 today, but only 15 tomorrow and just 6 degrees on Friday.
