Saturday Is 'Santa Shuffle' At OCHS

A one-hour walk around the track will be held Saturday morning at Oak Creek High School as part of the Mayor's Weight Loss Challenge.

As part of the Mayor's Weight Loss Challenge, another "flash fitness" event will be held Saturday morning at Oak Creek High School.

The Santa Shuffle will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. on the high school track. Just like the Turkey Day walk on Thanksgiving, participants will walk around the track for an hour.

This time, people are encouraged to wear a silly Christmas hat and bring a hat or mittens to donate to the Salvation Army.

About 150 people attended the Turkey Day walk. Anyone is welcome to join in, regardless of whether they are participating in the Mayor's Weight Loss Challenge.

The challenge started Nov. 10 with 465 people attending a kick-off event at the high school. Organizers are tracking how much weight participants can collectively lose before the challenge ends Feb. 10.
