Sikh Temple Members, Rev. Jackson To Speak at Monday Rally

Event will be held at Faith Builders Church, in the 4900 block of S. Howell Avenue, at 7 tonight.

Faith Builders Church, 4901 S. Howell Ave., will hold a rally tonight that will feature speeches from Sikh temple members, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi.

According to the church website, the event begins at 7 p.m. and aims to make a "united stand against violence and prejudice in the greater Milwaukee area."

American Idol finalist Danny Gokey is scheduled to perform.

The event comes a little more than two weeks after the attack at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple that killed six members and injured four others.

Two victims are still in the hospital. Police Lt. Brian Murphy, who was shot at least eight times, is in satisfactory condition. Punjab Singh, a temple priest, remains in critical condition.
