The Last Three Days in One Word: Yuck

Weather has been brutal, but no major incidents have been reported.

The start of this week in Oak Creek has not been the most atheistically-pleasing, to say the least.

Snow returned on Sunday afternoon and brought with it slippery and slushy streets. Today, for the third consecutive day, drivers struggled to navigate around the mess, though the city has been devoid of major problems on the roads so far.

Police responded to seven incidents on Sunday afternoon, according to police reports, with most of the problems on the south end of town. The calls included cars in the ditch, disabled vehicles and minor accidents, but no injuries were reported.

As the wind picked up and the temperatures turned chilly yesterday, police responded to more vehicle troubles, though exact numbers were not known. The morning commute was a slow one today as drivers dealt with the overnight snowfall.

Several delays were reported on the freeway system this morning. Milwaukee County buses were running behind schedule Tuesday afternoon due to the weather.

Oak Creek city plows appeared to keep up with the weather. Despite the snow falling Monday, the city's main streets remained in relatively good shape. Plows returned to the streets this morning to finish the cleanup efforts.

Forecasts for the rest of this week call for temperatures in the 30s with snow possibly returning on Friday.

And to think, it was more than 50 degrees just last week.
