Upgrades Coming to South Shore Cinema Screens

Digital cinema technology will enhance picture resolution.

is upgrading all of its screens this week as part of a large-scale digital cinema rollout.

When completed, the state-of-the-art digital projection technology will offer enhancements in picture resolution, more dramatic special effects and "impeccable" camera shots, according to a Marcus Theatres news release.

South Shore, 7261 S. 13th St., will also be better able to present more live and recorded alternative programming, such as , concerts and .

In addition, the digital cinema technology allows for closed-circuit captioning for hearing-impaired customers. Personal headsets with audio descriptions for visually impaired customers will be available in January.
