Week Ahead: Oak Creek Girls Go For State Berth

The Oak Creek girls basketball team won two games in convincing fashion over the weekend and needs two more to play in the state tournament.

After two dominating performances over the weekend, the Oak Creek girls basketball team finds itself two wins away from a trip to the state finals in Green Bay.

The Knights will take on Franklin Thursday night in Greenfield after beating West Allis Central 63-20 Friday night and Racine Case 77-49 on Saturday to take the regional title. Stephanie Kostowicz scored 27 points and Tamya Sims had 22 to lead the Knights to victory against Case, as the Racine Journal Times reports.

The Sabers come in to Thursday's sectional semifinal game with a record of 20-4, with two of those losses coming against the Knights. Oak Creek has not lost since opening night against Milwaukee Piusβ€”a streak of 23 wins in a row.

The winner of Thursday's game plays in the sectional final Saturday at West Allis Central against the winner of Milwaukee Riverside-Divine Savior. See the full Division 1 bracket here.
