Winter Weather Advisory Extended Until Tuesday Morning

Snow, wind have picked up in Oak Creek this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has extended the winter weather advisory for southeastern Wisconsin, including Oak Creek, until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Freezing drizzle is expected to give way to developing snow this afternoon and through tonight. Snow accumulations are expected to total 3-5 inches with minor ice accumulations.

A storm system currently over South Dakota and Minnesota is expected to strengthen as it moves across Wisconsin late afternoon today.

The National Weather Service says travel could be hazardous due to snow, sleet and ice covered roads.

The state Department of Transportation and Wisconsin State Patrol advise motorists to stay off the roads tonight if possible.

Roads were generally OK in Oak Creek for much of the day today, but conditions have worsened this afternoon.
