South Milwaukee, WI – Consumers priorities and needs change over time; some businesses choose to change with society, and are willing to make significant investments in their businesses to allow them to meet a community’s needs.

“Max A. Sass & Sons have been privileged to serve the communities of South Milwaukee, Cudahy, Oak Creek and St. Francis since the firm’s founding in 1937. The Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Homes have committed themselves to providing the residents of South Milwaukee with the highest standard of services. An important part of quality funeral service is convenience, which is why the Sass family has been seeking a location on the South Shore for several years.”

“For over 75 years the family of Max A. Sass has gained a reputation for professionalism, dignified services, excellent facilities and fair pricing.  Throughout the years many South Milwaukee families have gone out of their way to select a Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home as opposed to the corporately operated funeral homes that were closer. When the St. Mary's School on Manitoba Avenue in South Milwaukee came up for sale in late 2012, the family felt it was our opportunity to accomplish a long-term objective. “

“St. Mary’s School was an important part of South Shore community life for many years before closing.  In this we saw an opportunity, not only to open a location in the area, but also to reclaim a locally significant landmark in need of care and attention “says James Sass, President.

We are pleased to announce that the Max A. Sass & Sons South Shore Chapel is complete and open for business.  The public is invited to an open house on Wednesday, May 8th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 with food and refreshments.  Door prizes will be awarded to guests throughout the open house event.

The building has undergone extensive remodeling according to Michael Kremski, licensed funeral director and partner. A historic institutional building was transformed into a contemporary funeral home with spacious chapels, arrangement offices, and visitation rooms. It now offers all of the features of a modern funeral home:

The latest in technologies: wireless Internet, audio and video systems.

All new heating and air conditioning to assure a comfortable environment throughout the year.

Services can be video recorded and broadcast via the Internet.

Funerals and visitations can feature music provided by the family, or selected from our library of recorded music.

Large rooms to accommodate catered receptions or family provided food.

Memorial tribute videos are very popular for personalized funeral services.  Tribute videos will be viewable in every room throughout the building.

Ample parking with professional landscaping.

Because Max A. Sass is a locally owned funeral home, it was important to us that local contractors were selected for the remodeling, so that all of the money invested would remain in the community.

Max A. Sass & Sons is a family owned business in its third generation of service to the community.  The tradition Max Sass began in 1937 is continued by his son James and his grandsons, Steven Sass and Michael Kremski.  We are proud to be the South Shore's only family owned funeral home.

Peace of mind is an important part of quality funeral service, which is why Max A. Sass Funeral Home owns and operates their own crematory as opposed to transferring the deceased to a crematory operated by another company. According to Steven Sass, “We want our clients to know that their family member never leaves our care.

In addition to the open house event, you are invited to visit the new Max A Sass Funeral Home at 1314 Manitoba Avenue in South Milwaukee for a personal tour, and to get answers to questions on funeral pricing, cremation service options and funeral pre-planning. If you prefer, you may call us for an appointment at 414-304-5745.
