Last week, the Benefit Fund for Classic Lanes was established to honor the gifts of shelter, food, beverage and time humbly given by Classic Lanes in the wake of the Sikh Temple shooting. After this Fund was established, Classic Lanes raised the bar of corporate citizenship even further by informing the community that they would forward all donations to those in greater need.
Classic Lanes and its owners continue to exemplify the wisdom expressed in 1944 by an unknown author, "You can't pay anyone back for what has happened to you, so you try to find someone you can pay forward." Classic Lanes, you are a leader in and inspiration to our community.
The Benefit Fund will of course honor the wishes of Classic Lanes. All donations collected will be paid forward In The Name of Classic Lanes to the charities and/or funds of their choice.

As an end note and because question was raised otherwise, Classic Lanes did not ask for this fund. The concept of this fund is as simple as the spirit of an old fashion "barn raising;" the only exception being that the farmer who stopped milk production and gave away his supply has asked us to help other farmers who are in greater need. And in that farmer's name we will.
