Patch Picks: Family-Friendly Restaurants

Patch picks five of the area's most family-friendly dining establishments.

Kids aren't always the easiest to please when it comes to dinner time. Taking them out for a meal can be even worse. Sometimes it takes just the right place to provide a great, family-friendly dining experience. Here are some area restaurants that do just that.

1. Georgie Porgie's

From its filling and affordable menu to its fun, playful aesthetic, Georgie Porgie’s offers a great dining experience for all children and families. Also, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the restaurant will put on car shows every Saturday night through summer.

Kids love McDonald's, but this Oak Creek location has even more that they'll love. It is home to an enormous Kid's Playplace, so youngsters can have fun even after the food's all gone.

3. Oak Creek Diner

This diner is one of Oak Creek's newest eateries and already boasts a number of good reviews. Its friendly service, reasonable prices and tasty menu should result in an enjoyable dining experience for any family. This restaurant also features ample seating and a special kids' menu.

4. Nite Owl Ice Cream Parlour & Sandwich Shoppe

This old-time ice cream parlor at 830 E. Layton Ave. is one of the best-reviewed establishments in the area. It's also known for being very kid-friendly, offering delicious food and treats as well as a warm ambience. Nite Owl features plenty of parking, reasonable prices and a unique experience you're not likely to forget.

5. Lakefront Brewery

The Lakefront Brewery's Palm Garden Restaurant is a lively and enjoyable place to take in a fish fry on Friday nights. For adults, the Palm Garden offers great food and beer, but they also have plenty of stuff that children will love, including an affordable kids menu and a live Polka band. Despite it being usually crowded, the Palm Garden has ample seating for large parties.
