Accident Traps Woman In Vehicle

A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was trying to make a left turn when her vehicle was struck on Howell Avenue. She was later cited for failure to yield right of way.

Two vehicles collided on S. Howell Avenue just after 9 a.m. Sunday, causing a 24-year-old Milwaukee woman to be trapped in her vehicle.

According to an Oak Creek police report:

The woman was southbound on Howell trying to make a left turn near E. Parkway Estates Drive (just north of Ryan Road) when she was struck by a northbound vehicle, driven by a 54-year-old Glendale woman.

The collision forced the 24-year-old onto E. Parkway Estates and her vehicle rolled over on the northeast corner of the intersection, trapping her inside.

A police officer was able to climb in the vehicle and assist her in exiting. She was taken to Froedtert Hospital with a wrist injury.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Police cited the woman for failure to yield right-of-way on a left turn.
