Alleged Drunken Driver Crashes At College Ave. Roundabout

37-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving in Cudahy after striking a sign on College Avenue in Oak Creek.

A man allegedly driving drunk apparently couldn't handle the new roundabout on College Avenue.

An Oak Creek police officer discovered what looked like fresh skid marks, damage to a sign and vehicle debris about 1:30 a.m. Friday, according to an report.

Among the debris: the vehicle's license plate.

Police found the plate belonged to a 37-year-old Cudahy man and called the Cudahy Police Department, which said it had the man already in custody.

The man admitted to drinking prior to driving and told police he did not realize he hit anything, according to the police report. Cudahy police said his preliminary blood-alcohol content was .27, more than three times the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin. He was arrested on drunken driving and hit-and-run charges.
