Alleged Drunken Driver Nabbed As He Pulls Into His Driveway

A 50-year-old man allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of .28 when he was arrested at his home in the 1300 block of E. Elm Road.

A 50-year-old man allegedly drove over grass as he left an Oak Creek business and was pulled over by police just as he entered his driveway.

The man was arrested for drunken driving for the second time and, according to an report, had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .28, more than three times the legal limit to drive.

A witness told police that as the man left just after noon Saturday he drove over grass to get to the road. The witness gave police his license-plate number and followed him as the man headed from the business, 640 E. Ryan Road, to southbound Shepard Avenue.

The witness continued to give police updates before officers caught up with the vehicle as it pulled into a driveway in the 1300 block of E. Elm Road.

The driver was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody, according to the police report. In addition to drunken driving, he was arrested for open intoxicants.
