Another Business Victim of Burglary

A weekend after six businesses in Oak Creek were burglarized, a video game store was broke into May 23.

Another Oak Creek business was broken into May 23, adding to a growing list of burglaries reported in recent weeks.

Police say someone snuck in the back door of Gorilla Games, 8880 S. Howell Ave., and stole money about 2 p.m. May 23 while the owner was inside.

The owner told police she heard the door slam and at first thought it was an employee who came in early. But she soon realized what happened and discovered someone got into a safe and stole about $200.

A surveillance video showed two men enter the business and quickly leave after just 21 seconds, according to a police report.

Police officials could not be reached for comment on the investigation, but no arrests were indicated on dispatch logs for this incident or several others before that.

Six businesses, including two in the same multi-tenant building as Gorilla Games, were burglarized the weekend of May 11

Three of those businesses were Asian restaurants, which prompted Oak Creek police to order patrol watches on Asian restaurants in the city.
