Both Drivers Cited After 27th Street Crash

Police say a driver was looking at her cell phone and could not stop in time, rear-ending a vehicle stopped at a red light.

Two cars were severely damaged and each driver cited after an accident Tuesday night on 27th Street.

According to an report:

A 21-year-old New Berlin woman was northbound on 27th Street about 10:40 p.m. She said she looked at her cell phone, then looked away but could not stop in time and rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light at the W. Sycamore Ave. intersection.

The 21-year-old woman was cited for inattentive driving. The other driver, a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman, was found to have a suspended license and cited for operating after suspension.

The 19-year-old complained of head pain but declined an ambulance.
