Car Accident Sends One to Hospital

Woman cited in incident Wednesday.

A 50-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a car accident at Pennsylvania and Rawson avenues.

According to a police report:

The woman was westbound on Rawson Avenue attempting to turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue when she struck an eastbound vehicle just after 1 p.m.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage. The woman was taken to St. Luke’s after complaining of pain to her neck and jaw.

The passengers in the other vehicle, including an 18-month-old child in a car seat, appeared to be OK.

The woman was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.
