Car Totaled in Crash at 10th and Rawson

Both drivers, one of whom was taken to the hospital, told police they had the green light in accident Tuesday afternoon.

Both drivers thought they had the green light in a crash at 10th Street and Rawson Avenue that sent one person to the hospital and totaled one of the vehicles.

According to an report, a 71-year-old Elm Grove man was westbound on Rawson Avenue when he collided with a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Milwaukee woman, who was northbound on 10th Street, about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Both drivers told police they had the green light, according to the report; there were no witnesses at the scene.

The 71-year-old man had a cut on his left ring finger and was treated on scene.

The 24-year-old woman was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with a bleeding nose and neck pain. She was cited for a seatbelt violation.

The man's vehicle was totaled while the woman's vehicle sustained severe damage, according to the report. Both cars were towed from the scene.
