Ceremony Will Honor Late Sheriff's Deputy From Oak Creek

Sergio Aleman will be honored in a ceremony Friday at the state Capitol. The event also features the Oak Creek Police Department honor guard.

Late Sheriff's Deputy Sergio Aleman, an Oak Creek resident who was killed on duty in a July 31 crash, will be among five fallen officers honored in a ceremony Friday at the state Capitol.

Aleman, slain Wauwatosa officer Jennifer Sebena and three officers who died between 1915 and 1917 will be recognized at the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, according to a Journal Sentinel report.

The event will also include the Oak Creek Police Department Honor Guard, according to the report.

Aleman, 49, died when the vehicle he was driving struck the back of a tow truck on Interstate 43 near downtown Milwaukee.
