Downed Wires Cause Shut Down on Rawson Avenue

An oversized load traveling eastbound on E. Rawson Ave. snagged a guide wire and pulled down two telephone poles in an incident that caused damage to six vehicles.

According to an report:

The department received multiple calls about 11:05 a.m. that wires were down across both lanes of traffic in the 1200 block of E. Rawson Ave. The accident caused severe damage to a We Energies vehicle plus damage to five other vehicles.

No one was injured. Traffic was blocked in both directions while crews cleared the scene.

The truck that caused the accident remained unidentified.
