Driver Arrested After Accident in Oak Creek

Man told police he did not know Oakwood Road was about to end.

A 21-year-old man who did not see Oakwood Road coming to an end and struck a concrete pole was arrested for drunken driving Saturday night.

The driver was eastbound on Oakwood "at a high rate of speed" about 8:45 p.m. when he struck the pole and severely damaged the front end of his car, according to an Oak Creek police report.

The man told police he was lost and did not know a dead end was ahead, according to the report.

His preliminary blood-alcohol content was .15 and he was arrested for operating while intoxicated, the report said. He was not injured.
