Driver Arrested After Fleeing Scene of Accident

Police say a 21-year-old Milwaukee man struck a vehicle at 27th and Ryan, but the vehicle followed him to the Franklin Industrial Park, where he was arrested.

A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested after leaving the scene of accident Tuesday morning at 27th Street and Ryan Road.

The man was driving westbound on Ryan Road about 8:25 a.m. when he hit a vehicle waiting to make a left turn onto 27th Street, according to a police report.

He continued driving on Ryan Road and into the Franklin Industrial Park, police said.Β

However, the driver of the vehicle he hit called police and followed him.

Officers arrested the 21-year-old in the industrial park for failure to notify police of an accident, operating without insurance, driving too fast for conditions and operating after suspension.

The man's vehicle had severe damage to the front end, while the vehicle he struck did not have damage, according to the report.
