Driver Arrested After Rollover Accident

A woman told police she swerved to avoid a goose before hitting a parked car and flipping over.

A woman was arrested for operating under the influence after the vehicle she was driving hit a parked car and flipped over about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Police arrived at the scene, at Springbook Boulevard and Rainbow Ridge Drive (near Puetz and Howell), and found the woman unsteady on her feet and with slurred speech, according to an Oak Creek police report.

The woman told police she swerved to avoid a goose. She estimated she was going 35 miles per hour at the time.

She also told officers she had one drink at noon, but gave three different descriptions of the drink, according to the report.

The woman failed field sobriety tests but blew a .00 on a breath test, police said. She told police she takes sleeping medication but had not taken any for more than 24 hours. Officers took her to Wheaton Franciscan for a blood draw.

In addition to her second driving under the influence offense, she was also cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

She had some superficial cuts from crawling out of the vehicle but was otherwise uninjured.
