Driver Cited After Side-Swiping Sheriff's Squad

A 25-year-old Waukesha man yielded to one emergency vehicle but hit a second one Wednesday morning on I-94 near Ryan Road.

The Oak Creek Police Department has issued a citation to a 25-year-old Waukesha man who it says hit a sheriff's squad car Wednesday on I-94 near Ryan Road.

According to an Oak Creek police report, the man changed lanes to let a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office vehicle pass him about 10:20 a.m.

Once that vehicle he passed, he attempted to get back into the lane and struck a second Sheriff's Office vehicle that was traveling about 80 miles per hour.

The deputy in that vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The 25-year-old was cited for unsafe lane deviation.
