Driver Receives Three Citations in Crash That Injures Motorcyclist

Accident happened about 12:05 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Howell and College avenues.

A driver making a left turn at the intersection of Howell and College avenues struck a motorcyclist just after midnight Saturday.Β 

The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old Sturtevant man, was taken to Froedtert Hospital, according to an report. The report did not specify his injuries.

Police cited an 18-year-old Racine woman for failure to yield while making left turn-resulting in bodily harm, operating without insurance and a license restriction violation.

She told police she had a green light to turn from Howell Avenue onto westbound College Avenue, but didn't see the motorcycle, according to the police report.

The motorcyclist began to skid and laid his cycle down to avoid a head-on collision, according to the report.

Police said the motorcycle had severe damage, while the vehicle had moderate damage to the passenger-side doors and a rear tire.
