Fight Outside Melrose Leads to Arrests

Three Kenosha men fled the scene of a fight early Sunday morning but were found in a nearby parking lot and now face charges of battery.

Three people who fled the scene of a fight outside Melrose restaurant early Sunday morning were arrested and face charges of battery.

Police say two groups of people were involved in a verbal confrontation that turned physical about 3 a.m. Sunday at the restaurant, 6840 S. 27th St. Three people suffered injuries, with two of them taken to the hospital. Police said one or more of the victims suffered concussion symptoms and loss of consciousness.

The other group fled after the fight to the parking lot of Aldi, on the same block at 6810 S. 27th St., and shut the vehicle's headlights off to avoid police, according to a police report.

Officers found them, however, and took all three into custody. Police also found a set of brass knuckles in the vehicle.

Two Kenosha men, ages 19 and 22, were arrested on three counts of substantial battery while armed. Another Kenosha man, age 24, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The men have not yet been charged, according to online court records.
