Footprints In Snow Reveal Several Attempted Car Break-Ins

Police investigating incidents in overnight hours Friday.

Footprints in the snow helped investigate a series of attempted car break-ins during the overnight hours Friday.

A homeowner in neighborhood of E. Fitzsimmons Road and S. McGraw Drive phoned police about 7 a.m. Saturday after noticing footprints in the snow leading up to his vehicle and a hand print that appeared to show someone tried open his car door, according to the department logbook.

The neighbor noticed the footprints then went to his neighbor's car and down the block.

Police found that someone entered or attempted to enter roughly eight vehicles in the area.

Entry was not made to a majority of the vehicles. In a few, the vehicles appeared to be rummaged through, but no items were reported missing.
