Gas Station Visit Leads to Drunken Driving Arrest

Franklin man drove away from gas pump with nozzle still attached to his vehicle.

A gas station clerk alerted to a possible drunken driver after he drove away from a gas pump with the nozzle still in his tank Sunday night.

Police pulled the man over near Mobil, 9510 S. 27th St., about 9:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report. The man, a 45-year-old Franklin resident, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving, the report said.

The clerk told police she became suspicious after smelling alcohol on the man's breath. The nozzle was torn off the pump, according to the police report.
