Good Samaritans Box In Suspected Drunken Driver

A 33-year-old Caledonia woman was arrested after two drivers who saw her fall asleep in her vehicle boxed her in on Howell Avenue.

Two drivers near Howell and College avenues Saturday night boxed in a suspected drunken driver, who police took into custody.

One of the drivers called 911 about 11:50 p.m. about a possible intoxicated driver who was stopped and passed out in her vehicle near 27th and College, according to an Oak Creek police report. The driver, a 33-year-old Caledonia woman, then apparently woke up and continued driving toward College and Howell.

A second witness saw what happened and was able to box her in in the 6400 block of S. Howell Ave., according to the report. There, the woman was seen shaking her head and refusing to turn her vehicle off.

After officers arrived, the woman admitted she had been drinking, failed sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving, police said.

She refused to take a breath test or contact someone to pick her up and was taken to county jail.
