Late Sheriff's Deputy Honored

Exactly one year after his death, Oak Creek resident Sergio Aleman's name was added to a memorial alongside other officers who died on duty.

Exactly one year after his death, late sheriff's deputy and Oak Creek resident Sergio Aleman was memorialized at the Sheriff's Office training academy.

Aleman's name was added to a monument for sheriff's officers who have died on duty.

Aleman was killed July 31, 2012 when his vehicle crashed into a tow truck on Interstate 43 in downtown Milwaukee. Wednesday's ceremony was held about 12:15 p.m.β€”the same time as the accident.

Aleman is survived by his wife, Jenna, and five children.
