Lt. Murphy Has New Gig

The former Oak Creek police lieutenant has a job with the company that made the bulletproof vest he wore during the Sikh temple attack.

Oak Creek Police Lt. Brian Murphy has a new job with the company who made the bulletproof vest he wore during the Sikh temple attack, as the Associated Press reports.

Murphy said he's helping officers who were shot while while wearing the vests, the AP reported.

Armor Express was the maker of the vest Murphy wore on Aug. 5, 2012, when he was shot numerous times by a gunman outside the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin.

The vest stopped multiple bullets that would have hit Murphy, who survived a dozen gunshot wounds.

Murphy, who was honored in a retirement ceremony Friday, has also said he may go into teaching, according to Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News.
