Two More Charges For Man Accused in Car Break-Ins
28-year-old allegedly stole batteries out of cars at Oak Creek apartment complex.
A Milwaukee man is facing additional charges in connection with at an Oak Creek apartment complex last June.
Carlos J. Velazquez-Gonzalez, 28, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of theft and one count of criminal damage to property. If convicted, he could face up to 18 months in prison and $20,000 in fines.
According to a criminal complaint, were called to the College Court apartment complex, in the 6400 block of S. 20th St., on June 2 after a resident spotted Velazquez-Gonzalez breaking into cars in the parking lot.

Police arrested Velazquez-Gonzalez and discovered he stole car batteries out of numerous vehicles in the parking lot and concealed them by some timbers nearby, according to the complaint. Police say he also stole a CD player out of a car and a bottle of whiskey out of a truck.
Velazquez-Gonzalez was released and then, the very next night, and broke into more cars.

For those offenses, he eventually pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors and was sentenced to seven days in the House of Correction and three years probation, online court records show.
