Man Eats Marijuana After Traffic Stop

A 22-year-old Greenfield man allegedly ate his marijuana after he was pulled over in the 2600 block of W. Sycamore Avenue early Monday.

According to the logbook, an officer stopped him for an unsafe lane deviation about 2:30 a.m.

The officer noticed the man seemed "somewhat out of it" as he spoke to him, and could see his heart beating rapidly, according to the logbook. His breathing was fast and his words were shaky, so the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle.

While exiting, the man appeared to conceal something in his waistband, police said. During a search, a purple glass pipe with charred residue fell to the ground.

An officer saw several small pieces of plant-like material on his tongue, and the man then admitted to eating about one gram of marijuana during the traffic stop, according to police. Officers called Oak Creek paramedics and a police K-9 to the scene.

The man was later cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
