Police tased and arrested a 41-year-old South Milwaukee man Sunday night after a woman walking her dogs said he pulled a knife on her.

According to an Oak Creek police report:

The woman was in the 8300 block of S. Chicago Road about 5:50 p.m. when she saw the man unfold the knife. He told her to "keep moving" several times, all while staring at her for no apparent reason.

The woman flagged down an officer, who began to trail the suspect. After making contact, the man refused to put his hands up and allow officers to search him for the knife.

When the officer drew his gun, the man made the sign of the cross and asked to be shot.

Police Tased the man, which barely fazed him, and warned him several times to comply or the police canine would be sent to apprehend him.

After he refused to comply, a K-9 officer brought him to the ground. He continued to resist, but police eventually took him into custody and arrested him for carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct while armed and obstructing police.

Paramedics took him to the hospital for the dog bites, and he was later transferred to the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex.
